Introduction of the FMS Journal Rating Guide

During the 40 years, the field of management science in China has made great progress. Several important achievements have been published in the top journals and produced crucial influences on the national economy and social development in China. Now, management science in China has entered a critical period and is transforming quantity pursuit to quality improvement. As an academic community, we realize that we can guide the academic community to complete this transformation by issuing a high-quality journal list of management science from the Chinese views.

The Chinese Society of Optimization, Overall Planning and Economical Mathematics, the Society of Management Science and Engineering of China, and the Systems Engineering Society of China have jointly released the recommended list of high-quality journals in management science which was named the FMS Journal Rating Guide (Federation of Management Societies of China). We hope that through the academic credibility and influence of the three societies, researchers will be guided to focus on important journals in the field, to enhance the academic attraction and influence of high-quality journals.

In the process of researching the FMS Journal Rating Guide, we have referred to several major international journals in management science, such as UT 24, FT 50, ABS, ABDC, CNRS, and VHB. Based on literature measurement and expert recommendation, a blueprint of important international journals is formed. By collecting the rating result of the international journals list and measurement indicators such as the influence factors, the total number of published articles and the number of published articles by Chinese scholars in recent two years, and the opinions of more than 320 experts in various fields. Finally, 1177 high-quality international journals in management science are recommended in the FMS Journal Rating Guide, which including 110 A journals, 361 B journals, 485 C journals, and 221 D journals.

The FMS Journal Rating Guide is based on reliable measurement methods of big data science and extensive academic research, which reflects the academic consensus to a large extent In China. Because management science is a wide range of areas of the cross deep and fast development of the discipline, the number of journals and influence is changing, we will reflect these changes promptly as far as possible. We also welcome criticism and correction from all parties for possible omissions or even mistakes. We will update and adjust them regularly in the future based on feedback from all parties and keep perfecting them.
